Scripture= Proverbs 12:1

· If you love learning, you love the discipline that goes with it— how shortsighted to refuse correction! (The Message)
· Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. (N.I.V.)
Observation= I thought it would be fun today to write my own proverbs. Here is my attempt based on Proverbs chapter 12:1. Why don’t you try writing a few proverbs of your own? Send me your attempts by commenting on this blog.
Proverbs 12:1
1. When we admit what we don’t know we actually have given ourselves an opportunity to learn.
2. You can’t learn anything until you can admit what you don’t know!
3. Mistakes are the training ground for success.
4. Failure is simply the discipline needed to get something right!
5. Correction is the wisdom necessary for achievement.
6. Correction is the guide post that points the learner toward wisdom.
Application= Why do I allow my insecurities to interfere with my learning? Unless I can readily admit what I don’t know I am keeping myself from learning. I cannot stop learning. Learning is one of the most powerful reasons to live. Each day brings us a new lesson plan to master and allows us to conduct experiments in the great laboratory called life. I don’t want to stop my education until God dismisses my class and I graduate to heaven.
Prayer= Lord Jesus, may I desire to learn from you today. Help me to see what you are teaching me. I don’t want to miss out on anything that you want to show me today. I want to be a willing and eager learner. You are in charge of my education and you have placed in me the greatest teacher (The Holy Spirit) the world has ever known.
