A Righteousness by Faith
Philippians Chapter 3
Scripture: Philippians chapter 3:9-10-11 (N.K.J.V.)
“The righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to the His death, if from any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Observation: Righteousness is a gift from God that I receive by faith. It is not something I bring to the table it is all God! I receive righteousness because of my faith in Christ and all that HE is and all that HE has done. I must know Him, which means:
· To be one with Him
· To have intimacy with Him
· To be crucified with Him
· To have my life’s reputation be totally connected to Him.
· To die and have life only through His resurrected life.
· To surrender everything including the surrendering of my rights.
· To know that the power and will in me must be from Christ and His Spirit within me!
Application: We have to walk a life of faith. We need to surrender to the power of the resurrected life of Jesus every day. We must find our life in Him every day. We need to desire intimacy and give preference and opportunity in our schedules to cultivate it! I need to remember:
Not my will which = death, but your will which= life, be done!
Prayer: Lord, I want to walk in covenant with you!! To acknowledge and give you first place, to ask and seek your will and your ways. I want to listen to your Holy Spirit and be directed to do the Father’s will. I want to surrender to you Heavenly Father and be yours just like Jesus. Jesus, I want to know you, to walk with you, to be like you, to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit leading and obey him!
